The skyline at Nashville International Airport (BNA) is flying a bit higher these days, courtesy of its brand-new on-site hotel. The Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal - a state-of-the-art, 14-story accommodation with 298 plush rooms - is officially accepting guests, just steps away from the terminal and connected via a weatherproof pedestrian bridge.

This significant addition is pegged as the cornerstone of the airport's ongoing "BNA Vision" expansion, a multibillion-dollar undertaking aimed to bolster the airport’s capacity and traveler amenities. According to The Tennessee Tribune, Doug Kreulen, CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, "Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal is the cornerstone of our BNA Vision plan, enhancing our ability to serve our travelers and cementing Nashville’s status as a key international hub."

The project represents a partnership between Franklin-based Chartwell Hospitality and Ohio-based investment firm Rockbridge Capital. Dropping a hefty $95 million on the hotel development, this endeavor intertwines luxury with functionality, sporting amenities like the grand Aviators restaurant, a music lounge complete with a bar and grand piano, and a rooftop haven featuring a pool and fire pit alongside a sky bar boasting panoramic views. As reported by The Nashville Business Journal, the hotel rests atop a five-level parking structure, with the garage and plaza costs for Metro Nashville Airport Authority clocking in at around $82 million.

In a statement obtained by FOX 17, the hotel additionally features a diversified 16,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including the Gateway Ballroom which spans nearly 8,000 square feet. The design pays homage to aviation history with spaces named after pioneers such as the Wright Brothers and George Cayley, embedding a sense of legacy within its walls.

With the development of this Hilton, and alongside the other milestones including new concourses and an International Arrivals Facility, BNA is setting a new standard for airport hospitality and service. It is a vision realized, much in the vein of the trailblazing Hilton San Francisco, which in 1959 claimed the title of the very first airport hotel. Nashville travelers now have a front-row seat to comfort and convenience, thanks in part to the visionaries behind this lofty enterprise.
