Austin's beloved Deep Eddy Pool has swung its gates open once more. After over two months shuttered for repairs, the historic swimming spot welcomes patrons starting March 11. This famed pool had been off-limits since January 8 to undergo maintenance upgrades which include new deck lighting and the replacement of a damaged bulkhead. The upgrades were funded partly by the Austin Parks Foundation, according to KVUE.

The city has announced regular hours for the Deep Eddy's lap pool, while the shallow side is slated to be available for recreational swimming come March 12, just in time for the spring break crowd. Despite being a seasonal hub for swim enthusiasts, Deep Eddy undergoes routine maintenance, closing on the first Tuesday of each month, as detailed by KVUE.

With the summer season on the horizon, Austin is also on the lookout for lifeguards. The job offers a starting wage of $20.80 per hour even for newbies, along with a complimentary CapMetro bus pass for those hired. Job prospects, aged 15 and up, can learn more by attending a gathering complete with free pizza at the Aquatic Office on March 21 and April 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., as reported by KVUE.
