Justice may be on the horizon for the family of Carlos Govea Resendiz, 40, who was brutally gunned down outside 215 Sunnyside Street over two months ago. Houston Police have netted 34-year-old Enrique Amador Garcia, charging him with capital murder in connection with the case, as confirmed City of Houston's latest update.

The fatal incident, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on January 5, left Resendiz dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the street. Initially confronted with no witnesses, suspects, or clear motive, HPD Homicide Division Detectives, S. Chettry and H. Martinez rapidly worked the scene, eventually zeroing in on Garcia as the person of interest. Garcia was nabbed yesterday by officers, according to the police report, booked into the Harris County Jail.

Garcia's charges were filed in the 230th State District Court, although police have remained tight-lipped on the details surrounding the motive and circumstances leading to Garcia’s arrest.
