A lucky Powerball player in Houston has snagged a cool $1 million prize, with the winning ticket sold at local convenience store Mr. Express #1. As reported by FOX26 Houston, the Quick Pick ticket matched five of the white ball numbers in Wednesday's drawing, falling short only of the red Powerball number.
As things turned out, the winning numbers that evening were 21, 29, 54, 59, and 62, with the Powerball at 4. KHOU confirmed that while the jackpot was not hit, it has now swollen to a massive $600 million for the next drawing, with the cash option sitting at an estimated $293.4 million.
The Texas Lottery has issued a reminder, as seen in a FOX26 Houston report, that the unidentified winner has a 180-day timeframe to claim their seven-figure prize. As yet, the million-dollar winner has not come forward to claim their windfall.
According to KHOU, if a winner matches all five numbers and the Powerball, they may opt to take the full jackpot paid out over 30 years, or they could choose to take a smaller, but instant cash payout.
