An explosion at a Hudson, Massachusetts, auto repair shop on Monday morning left one man injured and the community seeking answers as firefighting crews contended with the aftermath of the sudden blast. According to WCVB, the explosion occurred at around 11:30 a.m. at the shop located on Forest Avenue, necessitating an emergency response that discovered fire and smoke billowing out from the building.
Hudson Fire Chief Jamie Desautels described the scene upon the arrival of first responding teams, “First arriving crews found fire and smoke coming from the building,” adding that they quickly extinguished the fire, and were directed to an injured person who was subsequently transported to UMass Medical Center, as Hudson’s Fire Department, and the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the District 14 Fire Investigation Team, are working in tandem to unravel the circumstances that led to the explosion the cause of which remains under investigation.
