
A macabre twist to a car crash late Saturday night in Kalamazoo has left a young man dead and local authorities searching for answers. The victim, a 25-year-old male driver, was found with a gunshot wound after his vehicle crashed near Jackson Street and Portage Avenue, as reported by WOODTV from a statement obtained by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
The emergency call came in at around 11:37 p.m., and upon arrival, efforts to quickly try and revive the driver were made, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has yet to release the name of the victim as the incident is currently being treated as a homicide, WZZM13 reported.
Details surrounding the events leading up to the crash and shooting are still murky, with the KDPS piecing together the sequence of events. They have urged the public, anyone who might hold a shred of insight, to come forward. The police are now working to unravel the circumstances behind the shooting death and subsequent car crash.
