
A fatal car accident in Kerrville has claimed the life of a 15-year-old and left others injured. Officials reported that the accident occurred yesterday morning when a BMW carrying four teenagers struck a tree.
The crash, as mentioned by KENS 5, happened around 1:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Holdsworth Drive. The vehicle, driven by a 19-year old from Fredericksburg, veered off the road, overturned, and its premature end was met with the unyielding trunk of a tree.
After the crash, two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old were transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center, according to KSAT. The two older teens were treated for their injuries and subsequently released, while the younger was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was airlifted to Brooke Army Medical Center in serious condition.
There heartbreak of the family was compounded when they were notified that one of the 15-year-old passengers, a local of Kerrville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has been withheld, but grief, no doubt, now bears their name in the homes of their loved ones. No other vehicles were involved in the tragic incident, which is still under investigation by local authorities.
