A grim scene unfolded in downtown Portland on Sunday night when police responded to a fatal shooting on the 800 block of Southwest 10th Avenue, Portland police have confirmed that a man was found with a gunshot wound, was provided emergency first aid but later succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
The incident, reported at 11:46 p.m., prompted an immediate response from central precinct officers and shortly after the victim was discovered, paramedics rushed to the scene, tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Portland Police Homicide detectives are now spearheading the investigation into the shooting, according to a press release by the Portland Police Bureau.
