In Fort Lauderdale neighborhood was rocked by gun violence this past Saturday when a shooting at the Casa Del Sol apartment complex left one man dead, reports say. According to Local 10, Fort Lauderdale police responded to the scene at 1400 NE 57 St. following the incident that unfolded shortly after 1 p.m., where they detained three individuals for questioning as they searched for potential outstanding suspects.
The victim of the shooting was rushed to Broward Health Imperial Point but succumbed to their injuries, a grim update that contrasts the earlier report which had not confirmed the fatality, the hospital positioned north of where the tragedy struck, video from the scene captured police officers with weapons drawn and neighbors expressed their alarm at the disruption of peace in what they described as a typically serene residential area. Matthew Berry, an area resident, expressed his unease to WSVN, saying, "It's very unsettling. This is a very quiet residential neighborhood... and to hear that there's a shooting is disturbing at any time."
