Earlier today, a man was hospitalized after his vehicle veered off a dead-end road and crashed into foliage on the far West Side of the city. The incident occurred near the intersection of Alamo Parkway and Crockett Way, around the Alamo Ranch area, according to FOX San Antonio. The driver, an adult male, allegedly continued to drive down Alamo Parkway despite the road having ended.
The accident happened approximately at 2:10 a.m., and the man sustained injuries for which he was taken to University Hospital. The current state of his health remains unknown. Authorities are still trying to determine why the man failed to stop his vehicle before the end of the road.
Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and First Responders from Arcadan EMS were dispatched to the scene, as confirmed by KSAT. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident.
Further investigation is underway to unpack the circumstances leading up to the accident, with questions lingering about what prompted the driver to continue forward into the brush and trees. The Sheriff’s Office has yet to release additional details, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
