A quiet night in Little Village was shattered by gunfire Saturday when a man was killed and a teenager wounded in a car-to-car shooting. The violence unfolded before midnight in the 2500 block of South Trumbull Avenue. One of the victims, a 22-year-old man, has been identified as Brandon Alcaraz, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The Chicago Sun-Times states Alcaraz was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Stopped at a stop sign, the two victims, age unknown, were sitting in a vehicle when a white sedan, reportedly with two doors, pulled up and someone inside let off a series of shots. According to the WGN-TV, witnesses described the suspect's vehicle as a white sedan that fled the scene following the shooting.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy, not yet named by authorities, was also injured. Struck in the leg by a bullet, he was taken to the same hospital in fair condition, as confirmed by the police. The teenage victim's exact condition and the extent of his injuries have not been disclosed to the public at this time.

As of now, the hunt for the shooter continues with no arrests made. Area Four detectives are actively investigating the incident, scouring for leads and potential motives behind the tragic event.  Despite the ongoing investigation, the authorities have yet to secure any suspects in custody
