
A manhunt is underway for a South Carolina man accused of shooting a woman in Gwinnett County during a domestic dispute. Gwinnett County Police are on the lookout for 37-year-old Anthony Young after officers responded to a shooting at a home on the 1300 block of Ivey Pointe Drive around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her rear shoulder and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
As the detectives worked the scene, they identified Young as the shooter and the woman's romantic partner. Police say Young has been slapped with charges including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. With his whereabouts currently a mystery, authorities are urging anyone with information on Young to step forward.
The incident, occurring within the domestic sphere, represents just one of the countless such violent occurrences that betray the shared spaces which should be sanctuaries.
