Get ready to strut some zany footgear for a cause this Thursday at the Maple Grove Community Center. The venue will be hosting the annual Rock Your Socks event from 4 to 6:30 p.m. to honor World Down Syndrome Day, bursting with carnival-style games and groovy tunes for attendees to enjoy.
As part of the celebration, organizers are calling on all participants to don their quirkiest and most distinctive socks – whether they're a pair or charmingly mismatched. This symbolic gesture, comes from the assertion that the karyotype of Down syndrome chromosomes resemble mismatched socks. Prizes up for grabs at the event will fittingly, be socks.
