A colossal smash-up involving two 18-wheel behemoths brought State Highway 211 to a crippling halt today, just south of Tamarron Valley. The wreck, occurring around 11 a.m. near Culebra Road and San Geronimo Airpark, flipped one of the massive trucks, strewing debris across the tarmac and ensnaring traffic in a chokehold that stretched for miles.
According to the Medina County Sheriff's Office, whose statements were captured by FOX San Antonio, the twin titans of the road collided with emergency personnel rushing to the incident. The truck's contents spilled across the highway, were said by witnesses to attest to the strength of the collision.
The aftermath left drivers trapped in a snarl of unmoving vehicles, as emergency crews and law enforcement cleared the thoroughfare and directed what traffic they could through alternate routes. Motorists were advised to steer clear of the accident site and anticipate significant delays whilst the clean-up operation unfolded.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
