Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has launched the latest Inside Safe operation in Koreatown, with the initiative successfully transitioning more than 30 homeless individuals from an encampment into secure housing. The operation targeted the area around Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park next to Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, aiming to address what had become a longstanding issue for the community. "Today we brought people who were living in tents in a park next to a school into safe housing with services," Mayor Bass stated, stressing the city's commitment to challenging the narrative that unhoused individuals refuse aid and shelter.

The Inside Safe program advocates for a citywide, voluntary framework that prioritizes housing and support services as key aspects of a broader strategy to tackle the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles; Mayor Bass's administration has witnessed tent encampments being dismantled across all council districts with thousands of Angelenos receiving shelter that exceeded last year's efforts, a commitment that was rapidly forged through the collaboration with the City Council. In a drive to combat the critical situation since December 2022, more than 21,000 Angelenos have been brought into shelters, and alongside this, the mayor has enacted measures to expedite over 13,000 units of affordable housing development.
