Last night at the City Dignitary Dinner and Awards Banquet, the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2404 recognized the outstanding service of one of the city's finest. Mesquite Police Officer Patrick King was dubbed the 2024 Police Officer of the Year, an honor he's remarkably familiar with—this being his second time around.
King's service record is nothing short of impressive, having been a part of the Mesquite Police Department since 2017 and serving as a deployment officer in the force. His accolade from the Elks, however, isn't just a pat on the back, this organization has deep roots in community support, with the Police Officer of the Year Award reflecting their vested interest in recognizing local law enforcement efforts.
According to the Mesquite Police Department, Officer King’s first run as Officer of the Year was in 2022. His repeat performance in the eyes of the Elks underscores a consistent demonstration of excellence and dedication to his badge—qualities that don't go unnoticed in Mesquite.
The Elks Lodge #2404, more than a fraternity, is a beacon for the community it serves—donating not just applause but tangible resources to Mesquite’s citizens. Among their contributions are drug awareness initiatives, college scholarships for students in need, a youth basketball program to keep kids on the straight and narrow, and even backing medical research—because when it comes to health, every bit of support counts.
Both Officer King and the Elks Lodge share a common bond—their unyielding commitment to the Mesquite community, which stands fortified by such commendable service and support. As Officer King takes home his second trophy, it’s the people of Mesquite who continue to win with such dedicated individuals at their side. #ElksLodge #officeroftheyear #MesquiteStrong
