A Miami-Dade family was jarred awake in the middle of the night by a blaze that took over their home. In the pre-dawn darkness of Wednesday, their house on Southwest 143rd Court became a scene of turmoil as flames ripped through, forcing an escape from the inferno. Local 10 reported that the call came at about 3:35 a.m., prompting more than 15 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) units to respond to the emergency.
The firefighters found the single-family residence fully ablaze, with fire tearing through the roof and smoke consuming the structure. Despite the chaos, all occupants managed to vacate the premises uninjured before the fire crews arrived on the see. This narrow escape was documented by MDFR officials.
Firefighters set about tackling the blaze, employing "multiple hose lines and a ladder truck to attack the fire from multiple angles," Local 10 relayed from MDFR officials. One specialized hydraulic tool had to be used to break into the garage, entering it to further fight the flames. Meanwhile, the Red Cross swooped in to provide assistance to the now-displaced family, as no injuries have been reported in the incident.
While the family catches their breath and counts its blessings, the cause of the raging fire remains a mystery. Fire official have stated that an investigation is ongoing to unravel what sparked the disaster. In the aftermath, NBC Miami offered a glimpse into the intensity of the inferno with footage that showed the house consumed by the fierce blaze as firefighters battled tirelessly to quench it.
