Minneapolis residents can expect a mostly cloudy day today with temperatures peaking around a mild 65 degrees, as reported by the National Weather Service. The light east wind will shift to the northeast tonight, bringing a slight chance of rain in the wee hours. With the low dipping to around 41 degrees, locals should keep a light jacket handy if out late.
Another warm day today with low humidity, followed by a chance for showers in mainly southern Minnesota on Thursday.

Thursday isn't looking much brighter, with a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly throughout daytime hours, and cloudy skies looming overhead. The temperature is expected to reach a high near 52 degrees. However, the threat of rain diminishes before nightfall, making way for a mostly cloudy evening with lows chilling to near 33 degrees.
On the brighter side, Friday promises to bring back some sun, much to the relief of those aching for a glimpse of spring. The forecast anticipates a mostly sunny day with highs approaching the low 50s, though it'll get windy at night. But hold on to your hats come Saturday – it's predicted to be partly sunny yet breezy with gusts reaching up to 35 mph, so it may feel chillier than the 47-degree high.
Looking ahead to Sunday, according to the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook, there won't be much tumult in terms of precipitation, but brace for partly sunny skies and bracing winds pushing the high to just 36 degrees. These breezy conditions continue into the night, with temperatures plummeting to near-icy lows.
What's more immediate for today, and notably of concern, is the elevated risk of wildfires near and south of Interstate 94 due to very low humidity levels. Fire safety should be top of mind for citizens in those areas, especially with any outdoor activities that could inadvertently spark flames in such dry conditions.
