Violence shakes the District over the weekend with two contrasting tales of crime and response. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers are currently on the hunt for a vehicle linked to a Northwest shooting that left one man injured early Saturday morning. According to the MPD's official release, the victim was exiting his vehicle on the 500 block of H Street when two armed suspects demanded his property, leading to an altercation and the victim being shot and left with non-life-threatening injuries.

On the same day, but in a turn to show swift justice, the MPD rapidly apprehended a suspect in a Southeast robbery. The incident, which occurred in the afternoon on the 3900 block of 4th Street, involved the suspect assaulting a man and taking his property. But he didn't get far, as responding officers tracked him down to a nearby apartment. The arrest was not without a scuffle; the suspect reportedly assaulted an officer before being taken into custody. 59-year-old Gardner Bradley of Southeast, D.C., now faces charges of Robbery and Assault on a Police Officer, the MPD reported.

While the Southeast case saw a quick conclusion, the manhunt in the Northwest continues. The MPD's First District has reached out to the community for assistance in locating the vehicle associated with the early morning shooting. The Department has yet to release any descriptions of the vehicle or suspects involved.
