Following a high-octane chase that tore through two Georgia counties, a man with warrants in three counties was finally nabbed by law enforcement. The suspect, identified as Dakota Meister, 29, from Dawsonville, led deputies on a perilous pursuit last Thursday night that not only ended with his capture but also resulted in damaged patrol vehicles and minor injuries to an deputy.

The chase kicked off near Demorest on GA 365 when a Habersham County deputy attempted to pull over a Yamaha motorcycle, Now Habersham reports. Meister, defying the deputy's signal, accelerated away, weaving through traffic and laying down a gauntlet for law enforcement. What ensued was a pursuit that damaged two sheriff's patrol vehicles, with Deputy John Crawford sustaining minor injuries, though he did not require hospital transportation.

Meister's desperate dash prompted a response not only from local deputies but also included aid from K-9 units and drones which were instrumental in his eventual capture. Found off Ben Loudermilk Road, the fugitive was taken into custody without further ado. He is now facing charges from both Habersham and Stephens County sheriff's offices, in addition to the charges from his existing warrants across three counties, FOX 5 Atlanta reports. Despite the tumult and potential danger that comes inherently within any chase of this nature, it was confirmed that Meister suffered only minor injuries, for which he was treated at Stephens County Hospital before being booked into jail.
