Main Street in Old Town Newhall is about to light up with the return of the SENSES Block Parties, a much-loved monthly affair that offers locals a taste of food, fun, and live entertainment. After a year's intermission, the third Thursday of each month from March through October will see this street fest pick up once again, starting at 7:00 p.m. and lasting till 10 in the evening.
The season kicks off next Thursday, March 21, with 'Neon Nights,' ready to transform the city into a buzz-worthy night hub. "Lighting up the block," attendees can dive headfirst into neon mini-golf, a glow-in-the-dark Nerf war, and a virtual reality experience that's promised to be out-of-this-world, according to the city's announcement. Stick around to bust a move to the live band set to take the stage as the evening unfolds.
It's not just the activities that change with the calendar. Each event comes paired with its signature cocktails, served up at the on-street bar, and a variety of food trucks lining the street to match the flavor of the night. The block parties continue through the year with themes ranging from the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival in April to an Olympic-style games night in July, culminating with Pumpkin Palooza come October.
Mark your calendars for April 18, when the block party will "Saddle Up" for the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival's kickoff. Here's looking at you, country music fans: there will be line dancing, a mechanical bull, and plenty more. Later, on May 16, party-goers will get to thoroughly fall down the rabbit hole with an Alice in Wonderland-themed event. As the temperature is hot up, June and July promise to keep pace with "The Big 100" and the Summer Solstice celebration ensuring that the community vibes stay strong, City Manager Ken Striplin highlighted.
For those who gave the previous SENSES block parties a miss, this year's line-up is the perfect opportunity to get in on the action. It's a community celebration where friends and families can gather, experience new activities, and make some memories.
