
Highway patrol cracked down on speed demons tearing up the tar in Salem, New Hampshire, with one lead-footed driver clocking an eye-watering 128MPH. The blitz was executed by the hawk-eyed New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit, utilizing their State Police Aircraft to spot and snag speeding scofflaws, according to the New Hampshire State Police news release.
The air-ground tag team operation, conducted on March 8, pulled the plug on 56 violators, with 21 hot-rodders busted going over 90MPH and 7 others busting the 100MPH barrier, the sins didn't stop at just speed; they included tailgating, distracted driving, negligent operations, and ignoring the move over laws, during the initiative on Interstate 93, efforts were in response to the alarming spike in dangerous driving seen in the region, no sooner than at approximately 8:13 a.m. Trooper Thomas Lombardi, from his aerial perch, clocked Reginald Carter, age 48 of Lawrence, MA, blitzing through traffic.
Ground units, cued by Lombardi, were swift; Trooper First Class Scott Garton flagged down and arrested Carter, the man now faces a reckless driving charge and is slated to appear in the 10th Circuit District Division Salem Court on April 18th, 2024, "The Special Enforcement Unit will continue this high-flyin' hammer-down approach, as speeding and reckless driving on New Hampshire highways have been climbing," says the NHSP.
