The courses are designed, to impart critical life-saving techniques and prep all participants for their future duties as lifeguards. The training series spans several sessions with options aplenty to fit the scheduling needs of those looking to dive into the profession. The cost for the certification is set at $250, according to the Ramsey County.
Prospective life preservers can choose from three available sessions, taking place at Highview Middle School and Edgewood Middle School in Ramsey County. The first session kicks off on March 28 and spans through March 30, with subsequent sessions slated for late April and early June. Despite the comprehensive nature of the course, completion does not assure a lifeguard position with Ramsey County, a crucial detail for those casting their plans.
Interested individuals are encouraged to fill out a Lifeguard Interest Form on the county's website. There, you'll also find the full schedule including a Thursday evening and both a Friday and Saturday that demand a dedication, from the early morning until late afternoon, as per the Ramsey County.
