The City of Ramsey recently hosted a unique community event, "Duck-Duck-Wood Duck," where families were invited to roll up their sleeves and engage in a hands-on wildlife conservation project. Participants of all ages had the opportunity to construct wood duck houses, an activity that provided both an educational experience and a way to contribute to the local ecosystem, according to the City of Ramsey.
The family-orientated workshop notably allowed kids to gain practical skills, using drills and other tools to assemble the wooden abodes for the famous waterfowl, parents enthused over the chance to engage their children in a form of conservation that was both tangible and immediate, they got to bring the fruit of their labor home to attract ducks in their own backyards, which speaks to the initiative's overarching goal of fostering both familial togetherness and ecological awareness.
