A fatal encounter left a young man dead yesterday morning in northeast Harris County after what authorities believe was a road rage shooting. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the victim, a black male in his late teens or early 20s, was found with gunshot wounds following a crash involving a stolen vehicle.

According to Click2Houston, the incident took place around 3:55 a.m. in the 15100 block of Golden Eagle Drive, where the black sedan, operated by the victim, collided with a parked car. An altercation on the roadway between the victim’s sedan and a gray SUV escalated to the point where the young man was shot, investigators learned from the scene.

Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect, described as a tall black male with a slender build, last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit and fleeing from the victim’s vehicle with a backpack. According to a post on X by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the sedan driven by the victim had been reported stolen earlier from a nearby apartment complex, adding another layer to the ongoing investigation.
