San Antonio is making a splash this Spring Break with free swimming opportunities and the awaited reopening of SeaWorld and Aquatica. As families and thrill-seekers gear up for a week of sun and fun, the city's Parks and Recreation Department has announced that the San Antonio Natatorium is opening its doors for free from March 11 through the 15, reports KENS 5. Visitors are invited to dive into free open swim sessions daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during this period.
The initiative by the Parks and Recreation Department aims to enhance the quality of life for all residents with family-friendly offerings. "The goal of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is to provide family-friendly parks, facilities, programs and services to improve the quality of life for all residents," said an official in the statement obtained by KENS 5. Meanwhile, aquatic adventures are also beckoning at SeaWorld San Antonio and the Aquatica waterpark, which have rolled out their welcome mats for the Spring Break season, according to a press release cited by KSAT.
SeaWorld San Antonio began welcoming guests on March 3, and Aquatica followed suit on March 4, both parks set to remain open daily through March 19. The anticipation is palpable as the parks offer not just marine life experiences but also exhilarating rides. "The 2023 season at both parks promises to be the best yet with upgrades, amazing new attractions, and fun events planned for the whole year," Jodi Davenport, SeaWorld and Aquatica Park President, told KSAT.
Among the heart-racing attractions is the Texas Stingray, the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in the state. Guests seeking a more chill experience can unwind in resort-like cabanas at Aquatica, complemented by thrilling slides such as Riptide Race. SeaWorld also offers up-close encounters with marine life, with additional purchases available for select animal exhibits. Truly, whether it's lounging by the pool or screaming down a roller coaster, both the Natatorium and theme parks are ensuring this Spring Break will be one for the books in San Antonio.
