Leading the pack, Hotel Emma flexed its luxury muscles as it got ranked 13th nationally and notched the title of best hotel in Texas. It's a significant jump from the previous year when the establishment was pronounced the best in San Antonio and fourth-best in the state.
Other San Antonio mainstays weren't far behind, with the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa earning the 13th spot in the Texas list and the third for best resorts in the state. "We are honored to be recognized in the U.S. News and World Report's 'Best Hotel' awards," said General Manager Steven J. Smith, according to an interview with KSAT. La Cantera Resort & Spa and the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa were close on its heels, ranking 17th and 23rd place for hotels and fifth and sixth for resorts in Texas, respectively. The Thompson San Antonio - Riverwalk also made the cut, placing 20th among Texas hotels.
