Tragedy struck a San Antonio neighborhood, as gunfire shattered the quiet of the night, leaving a 70-year-old man dead. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the victim as Darryl Glynn Byrd, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, Fox San Antonio reports.
Byrd's lifeless body was found within an apartment located at 4020 E. Southcross Blvd, at approximately 10:45 p.m. last Saturday. A witness at the scene informed San Antonio Police that he did not witness the actual shooting incident. Soon after, emergency services were at the scene but, unfortunately, Byrd was pronounced dead.
In a separate account provided by News 4 San Antonio, details converged on the late-night calamity, except the age of the deceased was reported as 60 years old. Law enforcement officers arrived at 4023 E Southcross Blvd, which suggests a possible discrepancy in address reporting.
As part of the ongoing investigation into this heinous act, two witnesses were taken to the Homicide Division to give statements about the lead-up to the tragic event, the authorities remain tight-lipped on whether any suspects have been apprehended, or if they are closing in on any leads.
