San Antonio's west side was the scene of a significant bust as SAPD and the city's Dangerous Assessment Response Team (D.A.R.T) raided a business amid allegations of illegal gambling and other criminal activities. The raid, which took place on Friday morning, targeted a property located on Castroville Road near General McMullen following prolonged scrutiny by the police, as reported by KENS 5.
The investigation, initially spurred by code and electrical concerns, led SAPD to collaborate with D.A.R.T to address the growing issues. Upon entering the establishment, officers found several individuals actively engaged in the use of gambling machines. Meeting their eyes in plain sight, a trove of drugs and various weapons were also discovered on the premises.
Out of the 11 individuals present at the scene, authorities detained about five people on outstanding warrants. The find necessitated a criminal search warrant, further expanding the scope of the operation. Among the vehicles parked on the property, a license plate check by the police revealed a stolen vehicle, adding to the list of illicit activities uncovered at the raided location.
The San Antonio Police Department is now spearheading the following investigation to disentangle the chain of illegalities linked to the business. "After finding the drugs and guns, a criminal search warrant was obtained," according to KENS 5. Details surrounding the bust remain limited as the story continues to develop.
SAPD has yet to release further information concerning the identities of those arrested or the specific charges they face.
