Two teenagers are wounded but alive after a shooting incident at a San Antonio house party, with police currently hunting for the suspect. The violence erupted late Friday night when, according to the KENS 5 report, shots were fired in the 4700 block of Sunny Grove following a fight.
The San Antonio Police Department arrived shortly before 11 p.m. to find two 16-year-olds with gunshot wounds. Surrounded by the chaos of the interrupted party, a firearm was discovered at the residence. Rushed to the hospital, the quick response ensured their injuries were non-life-threatening, as the suspect, who fled the scene after the shooting, remained at large, the KSAT article confirmed.
Amid ongoing investigations, the authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the capture of the suspect. No descriptions or motives have been provided thus far.
While both teens are expected to make a full recovery, the SAPD continues to process the scene for more clues. Found at the crime scene, the firearm is being examined for any connections it may have to the shooter, as the search for the assailant intensifies. As the community reels from the shock, parents and neighbors are reminded of the enduring presence of gun violence, even in spaces that are meant for celebration and camaraderie.
