Authorities assert that Dudley barged into the school on Monday, armed and dangerous, assaulting a victim and discharging a firearm through a window. In light of the incident, Captain Trent Duda directed an extensive investigation that swiftly pinpointed Dudley as a primary suspect.
An array of charges have been tacked onto Dudley, including discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and assault & battery with a dangerous weapon. According to the Springfield Police Department, this is not Dudley's first encounter with the law, as he was already out on bail for prior firearms-related charges. Due to the gravity of the situation, law enforcement officials urge anyone with information on Dudley's whereabouts to reach out, advising the public to uphold caution as he is considered armed and should be not approached.
In a distantly related arrest, Springfield officers took into custody 22-year-old Josiah Livingston on the scene for assault & battery, setting his bail at $25,000. All individuals implicated in the series of events at the school have been identified, and the police have signaled that additional charges are likely to follow. This investigation is active and the police department is committed to bringing the responsible parties to justice.
The announcement from the Springfield Police Detective Bureau also included a previous booking photo of Dudley from his September 26, 2022, firearms arrest.
