The search is on for an 18-year-old boarding school student who has mysteriously vanished near South Station in Boston. Authorities have confirmed that Mimmi Huria, from Milton, went missing around 12:15 p.m. on March 2 after taking a bus from her school in Maine to meet family in the city for the start of her school break. The Milton resident was last observed near Dewey Square and has not been seen or heard from since.
Huria is described as a black female with dark eyes, black medium-length hair, 5’4” tall, and of slim build. At the time of her disappearance, she was reported to be wearing a black coat, khaki pants with red pants underneath, and may have been sporting a head scarf. In addition to her distinctive attire, the young woman was also traveling with two pieces of luggage and a guitar case, the latter possibly a nod to a musical pursuit or passion.
The alert for Huria was circulated widely on social media platforms, including a Facebook post by the Milton Police Department, which has garnered significant attention in the community and beyond. The post urges anyone with information on Huria’s whereabouts to come forward and contact the Milton Police Department at 617-698-1212.
Both the Milton Police Department and the Transit Police Department are actively investigating the disappearance, working in tandem to scrutinize surveillance footage and interview potential witnesses. The few leads that have emerged offer little insight into where, or why Huria may have gone after her confirmed arrival at the bustling South Station transit hub. The young woman's disappearance coincides with the beginning of her school break, a time typically associated with joy and relaxation rather than concern and mystery.
As the investigation unfolds, the Milton community and Huria’s family are left with mounting anxiety and many questions. The urgency of this situation is palpable, and authorities continue to appeal for the public’s assistance. Tips can be the lynchpin in cases such as this, wherein every shared detail, no matter how seemingly small, might lead to a significant breakthrough. The commitment to finding Huria is evident—as is the hope that she will soon be safely reunited with her loved ones.
