The Corpus Christi Police Department is currently searching for 21-year-old Caleb Harris, a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi student reported missing since Monday. According to KSAT, Harris was last seen at his apartment on Ennis Joslin Road in Corpus Christi. Police detailed that Harris, a native of New Braunfels, did not have his keys, wallet, or vehicle with him, and his cellphone is now off.
Amidst the disturbing absence of the young student, his family reported him missing later on Monday, as confirmed by police. Standing at 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds, Harris has brown hair and brown eyes. With the fisherman angling for answers, a search was conducted on Wednesday morning in the vicinity of Ennis Joslin and South Padre Island Drive in hopes of finding any clue of his whereabouts.
While police continue their investigation, Harris' disappearance has pulled together a community of concerned individuals. Per information obtained from KIII TV, Harris' father recounted that his son was last seen wearing teal pants and a white shirt, and was letting out his dog at The Cottages, an off-campus apartment complex. The family dog was found at the apartment but Caleb's last known location was signaled by a Snapchat ping at 2:45 a.m. on Monday.
"By 3 o'clock his phone was dead," Randy Harris explained. Harris's father has expressed his gratitude for the community's efforts, with Caleb's roommates dedicating hours on Tuesday posting missing flyers around the campus, nearby businesses, and even bait stands he frequented. He also appreciated the widespread shares on social media seeking to amplify their urgent search for Caleb.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi issued a statement on Tuesday regarding the missing student. "The safety and well-being of our students is our utmost priority." the university said, imploring anyone with information to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department, as reported by KIII TV.
