Seattleites may want to keep their umbrellas at the ready, as the National Weather Service in Seattle has forecasted a series of wet days ahead. According to their latest update, light rain and mist currently envelop the city with temperatures hovering around a chilly 45°F. Humidity is high, tagged at 87%, with winds blowing south-southeast at a gentle 6 MPH.

The immediate forecast is soggy, with a 90% chance of rain overnight and low temperatures settling around 43°F. "Rain before 2 pm, then showers between 2 pm and 3 pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 pm. High near 54. East-southeast wind 9 to 13 mph becoming south-southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible." says the NWS Seattle report

Wednesday night won't offer much reprieve. The forecast warns of more showers and probable thunderstorms, with lows dipping to around 42°F and a persisting 80% chance of precipitation. Further showers are expected on Thursday, with the high creeping up to near 53°F and a consistent southeast breeze.

While Thursday night may see a slight reduction in shower likelihood—70% to be precise—residents should not expect to stow their rain gear just yet, with new precipitation amounts of less than, a tenth of an inch possible. Friday will offer a brief break in the clouds, though showers remain possible at a 50% chance, and the sun may partially reveal itself, nudging temperatures to a more comfortable high near 56°F.

Come the weekend, the weather finally takes a turn for the better with sunny skies forecasted for Saturday and a high of 57°F. Seattle will continue to enjoy clear nights and sunny days through to Monday, when the mercury may rise to an early-spring-like 62°F. However, the weather pendulum swings back by next Tuesday as chances of showers re-emerge.
