Police in Seattle snagged a duo in a hot set of wheels after someone tipped them off to a snoozing driver and an SUV sans plates.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the scene unfolded on March 16th around 11:30 am, cops descended on Second Avenue Northwest and Northwest 115th Street after a tipster reported a man dozed off in an idling ride that didn't bear plates, when they arrived, they discovered it was stolen, the authorities wasted no time and slapped Terminator devices on the SUV's tires to flatten their escape plans.
The 43-year-old man at the wheel, who was passed out upon the arrival of the police, decided to bolt after being rudely awoken—he crushed the tire deflators, hit the gas, and led the cops on a slow-motion chase. The rubber met the road when they reached a dead-end on Fourth Avenue Northwest, the driver ditched his ride, but his run from the badge didn't last long.
A woman keeping company in the passenger seat didn't get off scot-free either, both parties now face the music for their joyride from behind bars, with the man charged for trying to give the cops the slip, and cruising in a stolen set of wheels and driving tanked—the woman, already wanted for a felony, got nabbed for her part in the vehicular heist.
