Gunfire shattered the calm of Northgate late Thursday night, leaving a 28-year-old man wounded and Seattle Police scrambling for answers. According to an early morning report by SPD Blotter, shots rang out around 11:45 p.m. on North 101 Street and Aurora Avenue North.
First responders reached the site and discovered casings but the shooter's victim was missing. In an unrelated incident, the wounded man was later dropped off at the University of Washington Medical Center by a woman who sped away before she could be identified. Despite the chaos, he is now said to be in "serious but stable condition," as reported on the SPD Blotter.
Seattle's Gun Violence Reduction Unit has taken the reins of the investigation, determined to piece together the night's violent puzzle. Detectives are hunting for clues at the place on Aurora Avenue the shell casings were originally discovered, where the man was allegedly shot.
As of now, Seattle's streets are marred by uncertainty and fear, with the specter of an unidentified assailant at large. No suspects are currently in custody, and detectives of the Gun Violence Unit urges anyone with knowledge regarding the shooting to step forward. Ensuring justice and safety for a community too often besieged by the specter of gun violence, they work tirelessly to close these all too frequent breaches of peace.
