Gwinnett County law enforcement has cuffed a second suspect in connection to a brutish home invasion that saw a father and son bound and plundered by men feigning to be federal agents. Yenson Adrian Cedeno Acevedo, 29, faces charges for his alleged involvement in the December robbery. Acevedo was already cooling his heels in Gwinnett County Jail on an unrelated rap when the new charges clamped down on March 1, according to information from FOX5 Atlanta.
The December 6 home invasion at The Crest at Sugarloaf Apartments in Gwinnett County evolved violently when three suspects, decked out in tactical gear and armed, stormed an apartment. They proceeded to zip-tie the occupants, a father and his son, and claimed to be on the hunt for drugs and money. Fleeing with approximately $3,000 worth of sneakers and bling, the suspects left their victims shaken but unharmed. Police are still trying hard to pinpoint the third hoodlum related to the felony.
Previously collared in connection with the case is Luis Soto, identified during a traffic stop, and found with evidence linking him to the crime. Soto's stash included tactical vests, ammo, police badges, and pilfered footwear, as reported by 11Alive. Soto is facing a laundry list of charges: home invasion, kidnapping, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, armed robbery, and impersonating a public official, landing him in jail with no bond option.
Gwinnett County detectives urge anyone with information on the remaining suspect to step forward, offering a monetary incentive for tips leading to an arrest and indictment. Informants looking to keep their names out of the limelight can provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers by dialing 404.577.TIPS (8477) or visiting their website, as encouraged by the Gwinnett County Police Department. The authorities remain committed to apprehend the last suspect still at large, ensuring the scales of justice do not tip in favor of those who seek to wrongly cloak themselves in the guise of public servants and perpetrate crimes.
