Second Arrest Made in 2023 Gwinnett County Murder
A second teen suspected of involvement in the June 2023 murder of 19-year-old Brian Arnold-Causey has been arrested, Gwinnett County Police confirmed. The victim was found shot and left at a fire station before passing away at the hospital. Nineteen-year-old Prince James was taken into custody on March 18 and now faces a slew of charges including malice murder and felony murder, according to information obtained by FOX5 Atlanta.
Anwar Singleton, 18, was previously arrested and has been sitting in Gwinnett County Jail since October 2023, facing similar allegations. According to FOX5 Atlanta, Singleton has been slapped with additional gang-related counts. In contrast, James now confronts charges that include aggravated assault, theft by deception, two gang-related offences and possessing a firearm during the committing of certain felonies.
Details surrounding the case recall a grim scene. Responding to a call at the fire station, authorities rushed Arnold-Causey to the hospital after his friends dropped him off with a gunshot wound. He unfortunately didn't survive. Evidence of the crime was found at Lenora Park, with shell casings littering the perimeter, as reported by 11Alive.
