It's a well-deserved salute for Sergeant Scott Peterson, who's been named the 2023 Euless Employee of the Year. Peterson snagged the title thanks to a vote from his colleagues, a nod to the standout work he's known for in the department, reports the City of Euless.
A home-grown talent, Peterson, attended Richland High School before advancing through the ranks of higher education at the University of Texas at Arlington and Tarrant County College. With a wide range of know-how, including his role in accident investigation, and reconstruction, and as a certified Police Driving Instructor, TCOLE Instructor, and Drone Operator, he’s an asset to the force.
Peterson's dedication shone through particularly bright last year when he threw in his architectural know-how to help with the redesign of the Police and Court facility. The City of Euless boasts that his “tireless efforts” have resulted in a design that's not just functional, but downright future-proof for the police department.
Peterson didn't stop there; with an eye for design, he also created the Euless Police badge and the striking markings adorning police vehicles, not to mention the ECPAAA logo and a retiree honor wall. His creations are not only useful but also carry a unique artistic flair that separates them from the mundane.
His knack for problem-solving and a relentlessly upbeat attitude has earned him the respect of his peers, making him, as the City of Euless states, the "perfect choice" for the 2023 Employee of the Year award – a title that celebrates those who go above and beyond in their public service.
