A brazen burglary attempt at a San Antonio adult store was thwarted yesterday when a suspect was arrested after allegedly breaking into the Adult Megaplex. According to KENS5, the San Antonio Police Department responded to the incident around 3:30 a.m. in the 11800 block of U.S. Highway 281 North.

Police reports indicated that the suspect had tried to gain entry by breaking through a front window. Running off as police arrived, the 33-year-old male dropped the stolen property he was holding, according to a statement obtained by KENS5. An overnight employee at the store was said to have heard the glass breaking and confronted the suspect, prompting a call to the authorities.

The suspect then led the officers on a brief foot pursuit before being apprehended. He has been taken into custody and is facing charges for burglary of a building with intent to commit theft, and evading arrest. Materials from KSAT affirm that the stolen property was recovered at the scene following the chase.

While the name of the suspect has not been publicly released as of yet, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the break-in. The overnight employee who confronted the suspect was unharmed during the incident, and working correctly, the alarm system appears to have alerted him to the attempted burglary, as told by officials to KSAT. This event marks a rare disturbance at the Adult Megaplex, which is not frequently the target of such crimes.
