A 15-year-old male has been slapped with a slew of charges after police say he was behind two strong-arm robberies in Chicago, authorities confirmed Wednesday. The teen, whose name is withheld due to his age, faces two counts of robbery and one count of aggravated battery in a public place.

The Chicago Police Department reported that the young suspect was cuffed on March 20, 2024, in the 2700 block of 139th Street in Blue Island. In the robbery, the victim, a 30-year-old man, was forcefully deprived of his belongings while standing on a CTA platform in the 500 block of N. State St. back in June 2023, according to authorities.

The arrest came months after the teen allegedly committed the crimes. The authorities had been piecing together the evidence that pointed them right back to this young individual. Caught moments after the incident in a second, separate robbery was an unsuspecting 59-year-old male victim, who also got robbed in the 0-100 block of E. Benton Pl.

After months of investigation, the police managed to place the juvenile into custody. No further information regarding the circumstances of the arrest has been shared with the public just yet. However, the law enforcement's dedication to tracking down those responsible for such crimes has led to this individual facing serious charges at an age when most are grappling with high school dramas, not courtroom battles.
