Chaos erupted in Portland's Lloyd District early Sunday as two men were gunned down in a drive-by shooting, authorities report. The Portland Police Bureau said the shooting happened outside a bar on the 1400 block of Northeast Broadway at around 1:12 a.m. when an unknown assailant or assailants opened fire from a moving vehicle, leaving two victims in its wake.
Officers from the North Precinct swiftly arrived to a scene of turmoil where they discovered one wounded man, as emergency medical responders rushed him to the hospital; another had already made his way to a medical facility by private means, according to the Portland Police official website. Thankfully, it’s believed that the injuries sustained by both individuals are not life-threatening, yet the community remains in shock from the violence that shattered the night.
