The featured trailblazers comprise poet and priest Pauli Murray, Congressional pioneer Patsy Takemoto Mink, war surgeon Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, music legend Celia Cruz, and the multifaceted Native American rights activist Zitkala-Ša.

The reverse side of each quarter honors these women, meanwhile, the obverse continues to display the familiar countenance of George Washington. An original portrait design by artist Laura Gardin Fraser, initially proposed for the 1932 quarter's bicentennial tribute. Each coin bears traditional inscriptions including "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year "2024."
