UT Health Debuts Multispecialty Medical Center on San Antonio's Northwest SideSource: UT Health San Antonio

Health care in San Antonio just took a giant leap forward with the opening of UT Health’s mammoth new facility on the far northwest side. The facility's doors were officially opened following a Monday ribbon-cutting ceremony, signaling the availability of an array of medical specialties to the Northwest Side community. According to FOX San Antonio, the new outpatient and surgery center is perched near Loop 1604 and Kyle Seale Parkway.

Spanning over five stories and 108,000 square feet, the center isn't just another building; it's a significant investment in the health and well-being of local residents. The facility will house primary care, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, rehabilitation medicine, physical therapy, pathology, radiology, urology, and outpatient services, plus it’s set to start hosting patients today. A news release cited by KSAT noted that the surgery center will be equipped with four operating suites and 16 pre-op and recovery rooms, set to be operational by mid-April.

"We are proud to expand our footprint in Bexar County with the opening of UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway," Robert Hromas, MD, FACP, acting president for UT Health San Antonio, told KSAT. "This facility is a testament to our commitment of enhancing access to high-quality health care services while fostering healthy communities."

The state-of-the-art facility isn't just about health services – it’s packed with economic perks, too. An estimated economic impact of $42.4 million is on the cards, with the project supporting around 130 jobs. In addition to core medical services, the facility will offer laboratory testing and imaging services, including MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
