The Washington State Patrol (WSP) has announced that a memorial service for Trooper Christopher Gadd, who tragically lost his life while on duty, is set to take place next Tuesday. According to KOMO News, the service will be held at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett starting at 1 p.m., with a ceremonial procession honoring Gadd preceding the event.
The announcement came as community members and law enforcement peers continued to mourn the loss of Gadd, who had been part of the WSP for a mere 2.5 years. He leaves behind his wife, Cammryn, daughter Kaelyn, a father who is also a trooper, David Gadd, his mother, Gillian, and a sister, Jacqueline, who serves as a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper. Additional details regarding the procession and service are expected in the forthcoming days, FOX 13 Seattle reported.
Gadd's end of watch came far too soon after commencing his duties with the WSP on September 16, 2021. The loss marks him as the 33rd WSP member to die in the line of duty during the agency's 103-year history. These figures serve as a somber reminder of the perils officers face while serving the public, information provided by the WSP suggests.
According to details shared by KATU, the service is open to the public as a means to pay respects and honor the sacrifice made by Trooper Gadd.
