
A heated exchange in a Chicago parking lot turned deadly when a driver fatally struck a 30-year-old woman, authorities reported. The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday on the South Side in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said.
After a witness observed an argument in the first block of West 79th Street, the other individual involved, entered a black sedan and hit the woman before fleeing eastbound on 79th Street, according to the Chicago Tribune. The victim sustained severe injuries from blunt force trauma to her head, and body and was rushed to UChicago Medicine in critical condition.
Despite emergency medical efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival. As of now, no one has been apprehended in connection with the fatal encounter.
