Angie's Prime Grill is dishing out a novel concept in the Valley, merging the indulgence of a steakhouse with the convenience of a drive-thru. As reported by the Phoenix Business Journal, the new outpost comes from Tony and Roushan Christofellis, the minds behind Salad and Go. Prices at the grill won't scorch wallets, with chicken starting at $6.99, while a surf and turf combo comes in just under $17.
The latest project, a spin-off from Angie’s Lobster, aims to deliver quality steak, chicken, shrimp, and lobster to the masses. Aiming for eight locations in metro Phoenix, Angie's Prime Grill is lining up its pieces on the chessboard for a potential nationwide expansion. The founders' ambition resonates through the pricing strategy, making steakhouse staples more accessible without compromising the generous portion of sophistication the concept brings to the table.
Bringing a standout design to match the unique concept, the Christofellis' teamed up with Valley-based Ideation Design Group. According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Carl Schaffer, Ideation Design Group's founder, described the architecture as "a mini steakhouse," despite being a quick service venue. Schaffer promised a look that's a cut above the commonplace, said to resemble a "mini Steak 44".
Municipal zoning boards, having been pushing back on unappealing drive-thrus, might just warm up to this prime offering, with Schaffer wagering that the design will appeal not only to patrons but also to city planners. "We did a design that can fit into most cities because now cities are very particular when it comes to fast food – they don't want everything to look like a Taco Bell," Schaffer told the Phoenix Business Journal. These establishments feature quality finishes and enhanced curb appeal, he said, tailoring to the more discerning aesthetics of urban landscapes.
Central Phoenix grabbed the first taste of Angie's Prime Grill in March but with a twist – no drive-thru. Located at 880 E Lone Cactus Dr, this prototype diverges from the proposed model but previews what's to come. Fans of quick upscale bites can look forward to the drive-thru version, set to open in the fall at Indian School and 32nd Street in Phoenix, as per the expansion plans shared by the founders.
