A young man's act of bravery sent him to the hospital with a gunshot wound. On April 14th, just past midnight, Atlanta police raced to 991 Moreland Dr. SE following reports of a shooting at a vibrant after-prom party. What they discovered was a crime scene with the victim who had already been rushed to Grady Hospital by private means.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, upon arrival at the Airbnb that hosted the teenage reverie, no suspect was in sight. The wounded, an 18-year-old male, sustained injuries in a confrontation born from a commitment to protect. He said he was shot after he called out three ski-masked individuals allegedly meddling with vehicles.
His condition, described as stable, allowed investigators to piece together the victim's account of events at the hospital. "The victim, a 18-year-old male, stated he was at an after-prom party at an Airbnb when he confronted three males with ski-masks breaking into vehicle,". relayed the official communication from the Atlanta Police Department.
The search for the shooter or shooters presses on, with police urging anyone with information about the incident to step forward. "The investigation remains ongoing," states the department's report.
