
ATLANTA — The city is set to weather a mixed bag of conditions starting today with showers and a possibility of a thunderstorm predicted before 1 pm. Atlantans should expect a significant chance of rainfall, pegged at 90 percent, with new precipitation volumes ranging between a quarter and a half-inch. Fog may also reduce visibility between the hours of 9 am and 11 am. Temperatures are expected to reach a high near 60, with northwest winds around 10 mph, gusting to 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The skies will clear up as the day progresses into night with the forecast signaling a mostly clear evening and temperatures dipping to a low around 44. Residents will get to enjoy calmer conditions with a north wind around 10 mph, which might increase up to 15 mph in gusts. Come Monday, the city is set to thoroughly enjoy a sunny day with highs climbing near 66 and a more gentle north wind around 5 mph.
Looking further ahead, the NWS promises an unbroken stream of sunshine from Monday night through to the end of the week, with clear nights and progressively warmer days. Monday night's low is predicted around 45, with calm winds setting in for a pleasant night. The warming trend continues with Tuesday's high approaching a comfortable 73, coupled with a light south wind of 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday night will follow suit with a clear sky and a low around 51.
The serene weather pattern is to persist through midweek, the thermometer slated to rise to about 76 on Wednesday. Evening temperatures will again settle around the low 50s. As if in a set rhythm, Thursday and Friday are forecasted to follow a similar sunny disposition with highs expecting to be steady near 76 and 78, respectively. While Thursday night is predicted partly cloudy with a low of 55, Friday night begins to turn as mostly cloudy with temperatures remaining slightly higher at a low around 61.
The weekend outlook remains generally pleasant with a partly sunny Saturday and highs hovering close to the 80-degree mark.
