
Atlanta's police are on the hunt for a man who tried to forcibly break into an ATM at a local community development corporation. According to a report by Atlanta News First, the attempted burglary occurred early Tuesday morning at Quest Community Development Corporation on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW.
The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt to pry open the cash machine, according to police, and decided to quickly leave the scene before authorities arrived. Officers who responded to the call around 6:40 a.m. were informed by a witness that the man had to failed break into the ATM. A plea has now been issued to the public, seeking any information that could lead to the identification of the individual in question.
Surveillance footage obtained by the police shows the would-be thief using a tool to try to violently force entry into the business and then the ATM. The footage gave authorities a clearer image of the suspect at the time of the crime. Descriptions provided did not yield immediate suspects, according to a statement obtained by WSBTV.
